Qld: Appeal for return of flag stolen from RSL clubhouse
BRISBANE, April 25 AAP - A RSL official has appealed to thieves to return an Australianflag used at veterans' funerals, which was stolen on the eve of Anzac Day.
Roland Johnson said the flag was stolen from the Forest Lake RSL clubhouse, in south-westernBrisbane, while he was at a funeral.
He said the flag, which had been used in hundreds of funeral services, had sentimental value.
"I feel very upset that someone would take this particular flag," Mr Johnson told ABCradio in Brisbane.
"I did 102 funerals (in 2001) with this flag and 97 last year.
"They stole it the day before Anzac Day which is what has upset a lot of old soldiers."
